One day my Dad gave me some photography books and told me to look at them. I was inspired. And I realised that I had been taking photos from mainly the same angles and not experimenting more. So a few days later I went out and decided to vary how I took the photos to try and make them more interesting.
I experimented with different ways of taking photos, so that they were artistic or told a story. It changed how and what I took photos of, and I realised that the viewer doesn’t have to know what’s going on in the picture straight away, and that it might be better to let them wonder about the story behind the photo.
One of my favourite books that my Dad gave me was a photography book by David Bailey. I admired the way he captured every detail so precisely. With his photographs he captures a story behind the photo, so I decided to try and do the same as him and tell a story within my photos. Even though my style of photography in this project is completely different from his, it still inspired me immensely.
